When you pay cash in at the Post Office® on any day of the week using a debit card or Cash Deposit Card, your deposit will show on your account and be available to use the same day. You’ll also stop paying overdraft interest, or start earning credit interest for the amount deposited (if your account pays interest) from that day.
The only exception is if you use a Cash Deposit Card and you’ve agreed with us that when you make a deposit on one day, it’ll reach your account the next day. That means it’ll be the next day when you can use those funds, stop paying overdraft interest, or start earning credit interest for the amount deposited (if your account pays interest).

The funds received from electronic deposits, such asÌýFaster Payment, Bacs and CHAPSÌýwill be available for use as soon as they’ve arrived in your account. You can check if the payment’s arrived using our online banking service, Santander Connect (fees may apply).
You’ll earn interest on any electronic deposit from the day we receive it. Please see your Terms and Conditions for more information.

For other types of transaction, such as payments by card, the funds may not be debited from your account until the next working day.
